About
Why this exists
The judgments that decide how the law is applied are public and free. Knowing which ones landed this week, in your field, is not — that costs thousands a year, which is fine for a City firm and absurd for a two-partner practice.
CaseLawDigest reads every judgment published on Find Case Law for England and Wales, files it by practice area, and writes a summary a practitioner can use: what happened, what the court decided, why, and where it sits in the case’s history. One weekly PDF per area, and a searchable archive on the site.
We cover the courts whose decisions make law — the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, High Court, the Employment Appeal Tribunal, the Upper Tribunal and the tribunals published on Find Case Law. We do not cover the County Court or magistrates’ courts in bulk, because those decisions are not published as a body and rarely bind anyone.
CaseLawDigest is a trading name of Playblast Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. How the summaries are produced and checked is set out in our editorial policy — please read it before relying on anything here.
