Facts

The proceedings concerned EF, a child born in November 2024, whose father, TC, a hospital doctor registered with the General Medical Council, applied for orders under the Children Act. Following a finding of fact hearing, His Honour Judge Muzaffer made findings dated 18 November 2025 that the father had subjected the mother, WF, to physical abuse including throwing items at her, grabbing her arm and forcing her to the floor; to emotional and verbal abuse including extreme denigration; to coercive and controlling behaviour; that he had actively sought to harass and intimidate her after the relationship ended through repeated unwanted communications, as part of a concerted effort to coerce her into agreeing to his demands for EF; and that he had used pleadings as a platform to further attack and humiliate her. At the welfare stage, judgment handed down on 2 April 2026, the Court made a final Child Arrangements Order for EF to live with her mother with no contact with the father, dismissed his application for parental responsibility, made an order under section 91(14) of the Children Act 1989, a declaration of parentage, a 12-month Non-Molestation Order and an order for a contribution to the mother's costs. The Court itself raised whether its findings should be disclosed to the GMC, which it invited to intervene; the GMC accepted and filed a position statement dated 24 April 2026 seeking disclosure. The Court also considered publication of anonymised judgments.
