TH v AR & Anor (No. 1: Financial Remedies: Antisuit Injunction)
Checked against the judgment on 6 August 2026 · how we verify
Facts
The applicant, H, aged 84 and a dual British and Russian citizen living at the parties' family home in Odintsovo near Moscow, brought financial remedy proceedings against W, aged 52 and also a dual British and Russian citizen who has lived in England since August 2014. The parties married in Moscow on 4 August 2000 and separated in December 2024/January 2025, a marriage of 24 years to separation, with two adult children. W issued her divorce order application in March 2025; the Conditional Order was made on 7 October 2025 and the Final Order on 20 November 2025. H's Form A was issued on 12 June 2025. W's father, KK, was joined as Second Respondent by Peel J on 9 October 2025, and has never taken any part. A freezing order was made by Peel J on 9 October 2025 and continued on 22 October 2025, an earlier application having been refused by Deputy District Judge Handa on 8 August 2025. W filed a Notice of Acting in Person on 1 December 2025 and thereafter barely engaged, attending none of the subsequent hearings including the five-day final hearing. During that hearing H applied for an anti-suit injunction restraining W from pursuing any claim in Russia to the Odintsovo property, valued by the SJE at some £4 million.
